Holly’s Story
Holly has spent many months hospitalised and is wheelchair bound when at home as she battles on a daily basis with her brittle asthma. She is the patient mentioned in our last report, who had just approached us for specialist help. Thanks to continued funding from our many friends we were able to provide the equipment she so desperately needed.
We are happy to report that Holly is making great progress since our involvement. In face, as this financial year drew to a close, we learned she had broken free from relying on her wheelchair and began driving again. Her constant hospitalisation was now a thing of the past and only attends regular ‘check ups’. Not only that, but the most amazing news was that Holly had started work again. Yes, after so many years of being confined and restricted by her condition she is now thankfully leading a more ‘normal’ life and doing things a young twenty-something woman should be doing.
‘Today is such an amazing day. NARA – The Breathing Charity have worked so hard to supply me with a new syringe driver to help my breathing, which has already given me a new lease of life. Attacks and infection have already been less severe and have kept me out of hospital with intervention from my team. Now I can move on another step in my life, without ‘looking sick’ with a big syringe driver. Without having endless problems and be more able to be more active, albeit in my wheelchair. I’m so excited and can’t thank NARA enough. You are amazing. Thank you so much.”
